Projects

Create projects, manage members and teams, configure settings, and archive when done.

Overview

Projects group related work — tasks, documents, environment variables, chat, and agent builds. Every project belongs to a workspace.

TabWhat it does
TasksWork items with status, priority, assignee, and subtasks
MembersProject-level role assignments
Env VarsEncrypted environment variables tiered by environment
DocumentsFile uploads, links, markdown notes, and virtual folders
ChatProject-wide threaded messaging with @mentions

Create a project

  4. 4Optionally assign a team.
  5. 5Click Create.

Project members

A project belongs to either its owner or its company — never both. Your own (personal) project has exactly one Owner, and ownership is handed over rather than shared. A company project has no Owner at all: it belongs to the company, so access is decided by company permissions plus per-project Managers.

Project roles are separate from company roles. A Company Admin can be a Viewer on a specific project.

RolePermissions
OwnerPersonal projects only: full access. Transferred, never shared.
ManagerManage members, roles, team and project settings; delete any task; stop any agent
MemberCreate/update tasks, upload documents, manage env vars (write-only)
ViewerRead-only access to tasks, documents, and chat

Nobody becomes an Owner by invitation

Invitations and add-member offer Manager, Member or Viewer only. Ownership changes solely through Transfer ownership, which demotes the previous owner to Member — they keep full access, and it is never a removal. To make someone a manager of a company project, set their role to Manager on the Members tab; to grant it company-wide, create a custom company role with the 'Manage project members' permission.

Leaving a project

You can leave any project from the Members tab; your company membership is untouched. The one exception is a personal project you own — transfer ownership first. A manager cannot remove the owner of a personal project either, so that row offers Transfer ownership instead of Remove.

Project settings

  • Click the Edit button in the project header.
  • Change the project name, description, or team assignment.
  • Toggle the Block AI agents from unassigned tasks setting.
  • Archive the project when it is complete.

Archived projects

Archived projects keep their data but drop out of the active list. You can unarchive them anytime from the project settings.
