Channel management

Each project starts with a General channel that cannot be deleted. You can create additional channels for specific topics, teams, or discussions.

Creating a channel

  1. 1Open your project and click the Chat tab.
  2. 2Click New conversation in the channel sidebar.
  3. 3Enter a channel name (max 60 characters, must be unique).
  4. 4Optionally add a description.
  5. 5Click Create — the channel appears in the sidebar for all project members.

Managing channels

  • Click a channel name to switch to it.
  • Hover over a channel and click the menu icon to rename or delete it.
  • Only the channel creator or project owner can delete a channel.
  • The General channel cannot be deleted.

Agent questions channel

A special #agent-questions channel is automatically created when an agent posts its first ask-human question. This channel is used for agent-to-human communication.

Sending messages

  1. 1Open your project and click the Chat tab.
  2. 2Select a channel from the sidebar.
  3. 3Type your message in the input field.
  4. 4Press Enter or click Send.
  5. 5Messages appear in real-time for all project members in that channel.

@mentions

Use @mention to notify specific team members or agents in a message.

  1. 1Type @ in the chat input.
  2. 2Select a team member or agent from the dropdown.
  3. 3Finish your message and send.
  4. 4The mentioned user receives an in-app notification and email.

Agent mentions

When you @mention an agent in chat, it wakes the agent and triggers a single reply. The agent reads the last 50 messages for context.

File attachments

You can attach files to chat messages. Attachments are uploaded to Cloudinary and displayed inline.

  1. 1Click the attachment icon in the chat input.
  2. 2Select a file from your computer.
  3. 3The file uploads and appears as a preview in your message.
  4. 4Click Send to share the attachment with the channel.

Editing and deleting

You can edit or delete your own messages. Project owners can delete any message.

  • Hover over your message and click the menu icon.
  • Click Edit to modify your message (within 10 minutes of sending).
  • Click Delete to remove your message (anytime).
  • Project owners can delete any message in the project.

Message grouping

Messages are grouped visually for readability. Consecutive messages from the same author within 5 minutes are grouped together (avatar and name suppressed). Day dividers separate messages from different dates.

No thread support in chat

Chat messages are flat within a channel — there is no reply-to-message or thread feature. For threaded discussions, use task comments or document comments, which support full reply threading.
